Our Story: A Testament to the Father’s Goodness

From the very beginning, our story has been a living testimony of the Lord’s kindness a reminder that a loving Father delights in giving good gifts to His children.

How We Met

On May 9, 2024, at the top of the steps leading into Bible study at The WELL, two paths quietly crossed. Reese was arriving for the very first time, unsure of what to expect. But the moment he reached the top step, he saw her… Ely. To him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and from that moment on, no one else held his heart the way she did.

There was a spark between them, a mutual attraction that neither could ignore. Reese hoped to pursue Ely, but because he had children, Ely carried understandable hesitations. Their timing wasn’t right, and so they didn’t begin dating then.

Months passed. They remained in the same community, attending the same Bible study, sharing the same spaces yet barely speaking. Still, the quiet pull between them never faded.

Then came the Wells Retreat in 2025. After five months of silence, they finally spoke again. That single conversation stirred everything back to life. Both began to pray, asking God whether their hearts were meant to walk the same path.

Exactly one year after Reese first walked into The WELL something neither of them had planned he asked the Lord for permission to pursue His daughter. From that moment, their journey began, unfolding into a season of dating, growing, and gently falling in love. Along the way, the Lord continued to confirm in meaningful ways that their story was part of His design and that His hand was over their relationship. Time and again, He gave both Ely and Reese the reassurance they needed, and for Ely especially, those moments brought deep peace reminding her that her Heavenly Father had lovingly gifted this union and that she could safely trust in His plan.

The Proposal

Marriage had always been the goal spoken, understood, and cherished between them. Reese wanted to honor that promise and waited for the right moment. In November 2025, he began saving for a ring worthy of the woman he loved.

On January 15, 2026, he finally held it in his hands the perfect ring for Ely, the love of his life.

With the help of Aliesha and her incredible setup team, a storybook scene was created soft, magical, and full of meaning. On January 17, everything was ready.

There, surrounded by beauty and intention, Reese knelt on one knee and asked the question his heart had been carrying:

“Will you marry me?”

And Ely said yes to love, to partnership, to God’s goodness, and to the man who had cherished her from the very first moment he saw her at the top of those steps.
